FAQs

Does My New PUBLIC Bike Come With Any Free Services?

Yes! If you bought your new PUBLIC bike from one of our Mike's Bikes partner locations, we highly recommend bringing it back after 90 days for a complimentary check-up. It's always a good idea to re-adjust a new bike after its first few months on the road, and an early check-up allows us to catch any minor issues before they become too serious. But if you miss your 90 day free check-up, we may have to charge the cost of a Comp Tune-Up once your bike has accumulated several months months of additional wear and tear.

When Can I drop My Bike Off?

The Mike's Bikes service department is open every day. However, we encourage you to consider calling ahead and scheduling an appointment due to high volumes of service. Walk-in service is also welcome at several locations, but is based on a first-come first-serve basis. If your bike needs something bigger than a quick adjustment, our mechanics will thoroughly assess your bike and schedule your bike for the next available service slot. Feel free to give us a call as we can often diagnose your issue over the phone.

How Long Will It Take?

If you have made a service appointment, a mechanic will discuss with you the appropriate amount of time to plan for the service, letting you know how to plan your visit. If it'll be ready quickly, you might want to check out what's new in the store while you're waiting. Walk-in assessment and service is always welcome, but is scheduled on a first-come first-served basis. Only some walk-in service jobs can be completed by the end of the day. Our mechanics will give you a time and cost estimate after inspecting your bike.

Can I Drop In And Leave My Bike With You?

Absolutely. You can drop off your bike at a time that is convenient for you, and we will give you a call when it is ready to pick up! The level of service required and the daily workflow will determine your bike's turnaround time. Due to popular demand, we do recommend scheduling an appointment for an efficiency.

Where Can I Drop Off My Bike?

Currently we provide service in all of our Mike's Bikes partner locations

If you're in Portland or any other city, we recommend visiting one of our hundreds of other Partner Stores for service, or another reputable bike shop in your area. PUBLIC bikes use only high quality, industry standard components that are easily serviced by any professional bike mechanic.

Will You Fix My Bike Even If It's Not A PUBLIC?

Yes! All Mike's Bikes partner stores are equipped to service all bikes. Again, we do encourage you to consider scheduling an appointment ahead of time.
